Engineering Manager - Backend Infrastructure at Dcard

To support this rapid evolution, we are looking for a Backend Infrastructure Manager to join our team in Taiwan. You will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the backend architecture and infrastructure that powers a product loved by millions.

What you'll be doing

• Lead and coordinate technical efforts across backend infrastructure, security, and data systems while fostering a strong engineering culture and guiding the career development of your team members.
• Oversee and optimize our cloud infrastructure across GCP and Cloudflare, ensuring the reliability of critical components like databases, disaster recovery systems, and internal development tools.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive cost optimization strategies while ensuring our systems meet security and ISO compliance standards.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a collaborative mindset. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• At least one year of experience as an Engineering Manager or two years of experience in engineering project management, with preference given to those with Tech Lead or system architect backgrounds.
• A minimum of five years of software development experience, including a deep understanding of development lifecycles, software design principles, and product thinking.
• Proven expertise in SRE practices, cloud platforms, CDN services, and database management systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to handle vendor management and contract negotiations effectively.
• Proficiency in CI/CD systems and monitoring tools.
• Fluency in Chinese to facilitate effective collaboration within our team.
• Bonus points if you have experience with high-traffic systems, ISO-27000 compliance, cloud cost optimization, or building internal developer platforms.
