Picture a global team of engineers, product thinkers, and operators working side by side to keep hundreds of thousands of electric bikes and scooters moving smoothly across five continents. At Lime we have already replaced more than 100 million car trips with shared rides, and we are just getting started on building the infrastructure that will make carbon-free transportation the obvious choice for cities everywhere.
The opportunity
As Engineering Director of Supply Engineering you will guide the teams that create the mobile apps, warehouse systems, asset-tracking tools, and operational platforms our supply organization relies on every day. Your work will shape how Lime keeps vehicles charged, maintained, and positioned where riders need them, directly supporting our mission to make shared mobility reliable and affordable. You will set the technical vision, balance ambitious roadmaps with real-world constraints, and help the entire function deliver high-quality products at scale.
A day in the life
- Partner with product, design, data science, and operations leaders to translate business goals into a clear, multi-quarter technical roadmap that balances innovation with day-to-day reliability.
- Coach and develop multiple engineering managers and their teams, helping them grow their craft while ensuring projects ship on time and meet the high bar our riders and city partners expect.
- Introduce new processes, frameworks, or technologies that raise quality and velocity across the organization, then measure the impact through improved reliability, faster release cycles, and happier internal stakeholders.
Who you are
You bring at least four years of hands-on engineering experience plus four years leading teams as an engineering manager, including at least two years managing other managers. You have built or scaled either consumer-facing mobile applications, complex backend services, or machine-learning systems, and you are comfortable making critical decisions when resources are tight and timelines are short. Strong communication skills help you align competing priorities and foster a collaborative culture across product, design, data, and operations groups. You thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy rolling up your sleeves to solve problems that others may have overlooked.
Why you'll love it here
The anticipated salary range for this position is $220,000 - $300,000. In addition to base salary, the role includes equity compensation and access to professional development programs. Remote work is supported, allowing you to contribute from anywhere while staying connected to colleagues around the world. You will also receive health and wellness resources from day one, flexible vacation policies, generous parental leave, retirement-planning support, and the chance to ride our vehicles at no cost in hundreds of cities. Quarterly learning days, employee resource groups, and meaningful recognition programs are all part of the experience, helping you grow your career while contributing to a more sustainable future for urban transportation.
