We are looking for an Engineering Director, GenAI and Web Applications to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. At BenchSci, our mission is to accelerate life-saving research and development through our advanced biomedical AI platform. We support scientists at 16 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies and over 4,300 academic centers worldwide. As we continue to scale our AI-powered SaaS solutions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology strategy and leading the talented teams that bring our vision to life.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the product roadmap for our GenAI and web-based applications.
- Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing teams of engineering managers and developers to ensure we deliver robust, scalable capabilities.
- Collaborate with product and science departments to define organizational structure and foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong background in software engineering and leadership, specifically within fast-paced, high-growth environments. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in software development, including 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven success managing groups of 20 or more engineers and managers.
- Deep technical expertise in Python, React, microservices architecture, and API development.
- Solid experience with cloud computing, CI/CD, DevOps, and QA automation within Agile environments.
- A track record of building and scaling enterprise-grade SaaS applications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to resolve complex organizational and technical challenges.
