Engineering Department Lead at Massive Rocket

What is this role?

We are looking for an Engineering Department Lead to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level leadership position where you will manage up to three engineering teams. You will be responsible for orchestrating the efforts of software engineers, QA experts, and DevOps practitioners to ensure our technical output is both innovative and precise. You should be prepared to work in a global environment, as we have team members located across the United States, Europe, and beyond.

What will you do?

• Define our technical strategy and drive innovation by setting rigorous engineering standards and enhancing our existing development practices.
• Oversee internal delivery initiatives while actively supporting sales activities, such as leading discovery sessions and crafting technical proposals for our clients.
• Manage the growth and performance of your teams by conducting reviews, setting career goals, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment.

To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong blend of technical expertise and leadership experience. We require candidates who have the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in software engineering, including at least 3 to 5 years in a management or leadership capacity.
• Proven experience working within an agency or consultancy setting, specifically dealing with client services and project portfolios.
• Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies, project management, and strategic planning.
• Excellent communication skills in English, allowing you to effectively manage team dynamics and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• A demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and support business development efforts.
