What you bring
We are looking for a mid-level Engineer or Engineer in Training to join us full time on site. In this role you will develop and refine long-range mine plans that keep our operation sustainable and productive. Your work will include pit, spoil, and haul-road design, life-of-mine scheduling, and strategic evaluations that balance production goals with environmental responsibility. Three key responsibilities stand out: executing detailed pit, spoil, and haulage designs while considering sustainable-development impacts; running iterative production schedules that turn KPI data into accurate coal-blending forecasts; and delivering economic evaluations, capital planning, and peer reviews that guide site decisions. The position is based in the Elk Valley, British Columbia, Canada.
Requirements
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and brings at least four years of mine-planning experience. A Professional Engineer designation is preferred. You are comfortable with XPAC Solutions for scheduling and Minesight 3D for design work, and you have a solid command of the Microsoft Office Suite. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to juggle competing priorities and solve problems methodically. We value self-motivated team players who champion safety, pursue continuous improvement, and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization. The role requires fluency in English.
