We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team in the beautiful Elk Valley of British Columbia. In this role, you will report to the Senior Maintenance Engineer for Water Operations and play a vital part in our commitment to the Elk Valley Water Quality Plan. You will lead the development of reliability and maintenance strategies for our water treatment facilities, including those currently in development. Our team values a healthy work-life balance, and this position offers a compressed work week schedule with alternating Fridays off. Key outcomes
- Act as a safety leader by upholding and promoting all environmental and safety procedures.
- Provide essential field engineering support throughout the commissioning and startup of our advanced water treatment facilities.
- Collaborate with the maintenance execution team to oversee contractor management, prioritize work orders, and manage shutdown planning.
- Create a robust reliability program that optimizes the balance between preventative maintenance, operational costs, and facility availability.
- Manage engineering deliverables, including cost evaluations, conceptual studies, and comprehensive engineering packages.
- Conduct maintainability and reliability reviews for new operations to ensure all maintenance standards are integrated from the design phase.
- Contribute to risk management efforts by participating in environmental assessments, HAZOPS, and FMEA processes.
- Utilize your technical expertise to interpret Isometric drawings and Process Engineering Flow Schemes.
- Troubleshoot processing systems and execute necessary design improvements.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
- At least three years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven background in maintenance or reliability within an industrial or mining setting.
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on fostering collaboration and sharing best practices across teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across multi-disciplinary technical groups.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience working on large-scale projects.
