Role at a glance
We are seeking a Senior-level engineer to join our team as an Engineer II or III, depending on your specific qualifications. This is a full-time position based in the United States. To support your need for flexibility, we operate on a hybrid 3-2 schedule, meaning you will spend three days in the office and two days teleworking each week.
Your impact
- Lead the analysis and planning efforts for the integration of Distributed Energy Resources, including solar, wind, battery storage, microgrids, and electric vehicle infrastructure, into our distribution system.
- Provide subject matter expertise on power system studies, such as powerflow and system protection, while developing and deploying a comprehensive Distributed Energy Resource Management System.
- Represent our company at regional and national industry conferences and working groups to stay at the forefront of emerging energy technologies and trends.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you should be a collaborative professional with a strong technical foundation and the ability to solve complex problems. We require the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or an equivalent recognized degree.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience within utility power systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Demonstrated experience with distribution planning software like OpenDSS or Synergi, including the ability to automate studies.
- A solid understanding of both synchronous and inverter-based DER technologies.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide less experienced team members and manage complex projects independently.
