Role at a glance
We are seeking a Senior Energy Systems Research Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is based in the United States and follows a hybrid work model, allowing you to balance office collaboration with flexibility.
Your impact
- Design and deploy sophisticated optimization models for electricity market clearing processes, including SCUC and SCED.
- Analyze and model market behavior from the perspective of participants, focusing on bidding strategies, risk management, and forecasting.
- Create robust tools for power flow analysis, network modeling, and contingency testing to simulate market outcomes under various policy and operational conditions.
What you'll need
- An MS or PhD in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, or a related discipline.
- Advanced knowledge of optimization techniques, such as stochastic, robust, or mixed-integer programming, specifically applied to electricity markets.
- Professional proficiency in Python and a demonstrated ability to manage and process large datasets.
- A deep understanding of ISO/RTO market rules and the nuances of participant behavior.
- Familiarity with the application of AI techniques within energy markets.
- Bonus points if you have experience with cloud computing, HPC, or production cost modeling tools.
- Fluency in English.
