The role

We are searching for a senior-level Energy Markets Manager to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a vital position for someone who considers themselves an energy nerd with a deep understanding of demand-side management. You will be responsible for overseeing our growing distributed energy resources portfolio within PJM Capacity Markets. Because we are a distributed company, you can work from anywhere, provided you are available to coordinate with stakeholders and colleagues during Eastern and Central time business hours.

Core responsibilities

• Lead a talented group of analysts and interns to handle all PJM Capacity Program activities, including asset registration, portfolio optimization, settlement, and position management.
• Act as the primary subject matter expert for the programs you oversee, providing guidance on market rules and participation requirements to your colleagues.
• Develop and refine the analytical tools, specifically using Python and Excel, that support our internal operations and assist our Sales and Marketing teams in serving our customers.

Skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you should bring a unique blend of creativity and engineering diligence. We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

• Extensive experience in portfolio management within energy markets.
• Advanced technical proficiency in Python and Excel for data analysis and tool development.
• A proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with utility representatives and policymakers.
• Excellent communication skills in English to effectively manage your team and represent Voltus.

Compensation and benefits

We offer a competitive base salary ranging from $125,000 to $145,000 annually, which is commensurate with your experience. In addition to this base pay, you will be eligible for a 10-20% bonus paid semi-annually and equity in the company. Our benefits package is designed to support your well-being and includes:
