Welcome to Gravis Robotics. We are a startup dedicated to transforming heavy construction equipment into intelligent, autonomous robots. By blending learning-based automation with augmented remote control, we empower a single operator to manage a fleet of earthmoving machines within a gamified interface. Our team draws on over a decade of academic research to bring advanced robotics into the trillion-dollar construction industry, and we are currently scaling up to support active deployments with major market leaders. We are looking for a talented Embedded Systems Engineer to join our on-site team in Switzerland and help us push the boundaries of what autonomous machines can achieve.
What you'll be doing
- You will implement core autonomous functionalities on embedded platforms specifically designed for our autonomous excavators.
- You will establish and maintain a robust DevOps cycle for our embedded systems by addressing complex challenges in cross-compilation, deployment, and build infrastructure.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement sophisticated system architectures for our autonomous machine applications.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in software engineering and embedded systems. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience working with embedded platforms for machine vision in the autonomous vehicle sector or a similar domain.
- A proven track record of creating and improving developer environments for embedded systems.
- Deep expertise in embedded GPU programming and performance optimization, particularly on Nvidia platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit, as you will be working closely with an international team.
- Fluency in English, which is essential for our daily operations and global collaboration.
Bonus points if you have experience with Nvidia Drive SoC, ROS, or high-reliability applications like those found in the automotive or aerospace industries. Familiarity with parallel programming frameworks such as CUDA, OpenCL, or Halide is also highly valued.
What you'll get
Joining our team means becoming part of a dynamic startup that is actively revolutionizing the heavy construction sector. We offer a fair market salary and the opportunity to work from our office in the vibrant city of Zurich. We value your well-being and understand the importance of flexibility, so we are open to discussing your preferred working arrangements during the interview process. If you are passionate about robotics but do not meet every single requirement listed above, we still encourage you to apply, as we are always looking for enthusiastic talent to help us grow.
