Embedded Software Engineer at Verkada

We are currently looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in Poland and help us continue building the operating system for the physical world.

What you'll be doing

• You will design and develop new features for our embedded platforms, including cameras, access control systems, alarms, and sensors within Linux and real-time operating system environments.
• You will take ownership of the full project lifecycle, from initial architecture and design to deployment and ongoing customer support, while building prototypes and proof-of-concept models.
• You will collaborate within a cross-functional team to perform code reviews, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and research emerging technologies for our next generation of products.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in electrical engineering and a passion for building robust systems. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of professional experience in embedded systems software development.
• Advanced proficiency in C or C++ programming.
• Practical experience with Python or other scripting languages.
• Solid experience working with Git version control.
• Proven expertise in Linux user space development.
• Fluency in English to collaborate effectively with our global team.
• Bonus points if you have experience with Bash scripting, Go, Yocto, Linux kernel modules, secure boot, bootloaders, TCP/IP stacks, or RTOS.
