We are on a mission to transform space into a reliable transportation layer for Earth. By building highly maneuverable reentry vehicles that can loiter in orbit before landing with precision, we are working to make global access borderless and routine. We are looking for passionate individuals to help us define this new era of human history.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in a full-time, on-site capacity at our headquarters in Torrance, California. This is a high-impact role where you will take ownership of the flight software stack that powers our spacecraft, ensuring our vehicles can successfully operate in orbit and return safely to Earth.
What will you do?
- Develop and test critical spacecraft software, including drivers, networking, fault management, and attitude control interfaces.
- Collaborate with vendors to integrate sensors, actuators, and various hardware components into our systems.
- Support the full software lifecycle by assisting with hardware-in-the-loop testing, integration, unit testing, and ground control mission operations.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in embedded systems and a drive to solve complex engineering challenges. We value candidates who have a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and at least 6 years of experience in C/C++ development. You should be proficient with git for version control and have hands-on experience with communication protocols like SPI and I2C. Because we work with sensitive space technology, you must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident to comply with ITAR regulations.
What's in it for you?
We offer a competitive annual base salary ranging from $120,000 to $200,000. Your specific compensation will be determined based on your unique experience, skills, and internal equity considerations.
