We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team and help pioneer the future of science. At MedAcuity, we develop software products and integrated systems that empower our partners to create life-saving medical technology.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded software using C, C++, RTOS, Linux, and Windows for complex medical devices and analytical instrumentation.
- Manage the full software development life cycle, from initial requirements and planning to code reviews and documentation.
- Create and execute verification plans within laboratory, simulated, and emulated environments.
- Work closely with multi-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery and represent our company to clients.
- Handle real-time data acquisition and high-speed communication channels using digital and analog I/O.
Must-haves
- At least 5 years of professional experience in software design and programming.
- Strong grasp of microprocessor architectures, digital logic, and system interfaces.
- Proven ability to perform multi-threaded programming for real-time embedded systems.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming and modern C++ standards, including C++11, STL, and BOOST.
- Experience using hardware development tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, and debuggers.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers such as ARM, NXP, Freescale, or Microchip, along with protocols like USB, PCI, and DMA.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, though we also accept equivalent professional experience.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working within highly regulated industries, particularly medical devices, aerospace, or defense.
- Background in robotics development.
- Previous experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
