Our team at Toyota Connected is looking for a motivated Embedded Linux Engineer to join us on a full-time, hybrid basis in Plano, Texas. Since 2016, we have been dedicated to integrating big data and cloud intelligence into the mobility experience, ensuring that every Toyota and Lexus vehicle provides a more intuitive, safe, and personal journey for our customers. In this role, you will work closely with our multimedia systems, focusing on firmware installation, microcontroller support, and the development of automation tools that streamline our software testing and deployment processes.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a robust ecosystem of tools for in-vehicle multimedia development, focusing on the automation and optimization of code written in C, C++, Rust, and Python.
- Manage the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of embedded devices, which includes performing necessary firmware updates.
- Execute and debug software tests on ARM CPUs and DSPs across various environments, ranging from pre-silicon platforms like emulation and FPGA to post-silicon bring-up boards.
Requirements
We are seeking a mid-level professional who brings a strong technical foundation and a collaborative spirit to our engineering team. You should have at least 1.5 years of experience in embedded software development and a deep understanding of Linux. Your background should include proficiency in C, C++, Rust, or Python, along with practical experience in installing Linux from scratch, including disk partitioning and package management. You should be comfortable working with hardware interfaces and have experience troubleshooting embedded systems in both pre-silicon and post-silicon setups. Strong organizational skills, familiarity with version control systems like Git, and the ability to communicate effectively with peers are essential for success in this role.
