The opportunity
As a Senior Embedded Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and refining our industrial robotic systems. You will join an engineering team that is not afraid to challenge the status quo, working to integrate AI and modern software solutions into the world of industrial automation. This is a chance to move beyond traditional methods and help us create systems that are more intelligent, effective, and user-friendly. You will be a key contributor to our Robotics-as-a-Service platform, helping us scale our impact across the manufacturing sector.
A day in the life
- You will develop the core logic for our robotic automation cells using a Python and Linux environment.
- You will collaborate closely with other engineers to ensure the seamless integration of PLC and robotic arm software.
- You will work alongside product managers and cross-functional teams, including HMI and cloud developers, to create intuitive and robust system interactions.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer with a strong background in software development for embedded systems. You have a track record of delivering complex commercial products and are comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment. Your profile includes:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in embedded fields, such as robotics, automotive, or consumer electronics.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Python and Linux, ideally with a history of shipping production-ready systems.
- Proficiency in software best practices, including unit testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- A willingness to work from our headquarters in Woodridge, IL, at least 3 days per week.
- Bonus points if you have experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS).
