The role
We are hiring an Electromechanical Hardware Engineer to join our hardware and process R&D team on a full-time, on-site basis. This position is open to students and recent graduates who are ready to contribute directly to prototype development and process improvement in a lab-focused environment.
Core responsibilities
- Design, build, and test prototype battery manufacturing components and devices while maintaining ownership of your work.
- Operate and refine existing manufacturing processes in collaboration with our process and operations teams.
- Analyze process performance and translate observations into first-principles design improvements.
Skills and experience
We are looking for candidates with a BS in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or a related field, along with 0-3 years of industry experience. You should be comfortable programming in MATLAB, Python, Arduino, or Teensy, and proficient with 3D modeling software. Familiarity with fabrication methods such as milling, lathing, laser cutting, 3D printing, breadboarding, and PCB layout is important, as is a solid understanding of basic electronic circuits and feedback control systems. Strong reading comprehension and written communication skills are essential. We value self-motivated individuals who pay close attention to detail, welcome feedback, and take initiative to solve problems.
