At Molten Industries, we are on a mission to decarbonize the world's heavy industrial and transportation sectors. By turning methane and electricity into high-quality, carbon-neutral hydrogen and graphite, we are tackling the industries that contribute to over 40% of global CO2 emissions. Since our start in a Stanford garage in 2021, we have been backed by top-tier venture capital and a world-class advisory board. We are looking for people who want to do meaningful work that makes a real-world impact on climate change.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior Electrochemical Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. As a core member of our early team, you will be responsible for the design and build-out of the electrochemical systems that power our graphite and hydrogen production. This is a hands-on role for someone who is ready to translate complex technical challenges into real-world solutions as we scale our technology from pilot systems to industrial-scale plants.
What will you do?
- Lead the rapid scale-up of our electrochemical technology, moving from the lab environment to full commercial application.
- Direct the development and commercialization of new technologies focused on chemical transformation, purification, and refining.
- Prototype, test, and analyze complex electrochemical systems while working alongside our technical founding team to drive industrial production.
What makes you a great fit?
You are a scrappy, hands-on engineer who is comfortable getting your hands dirty to solve difficult R&D problems. We value candidates who have a strong track record of linking research to successful, real-world implementation.
- You hold a degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- You possess deep fundamental knowledge of electrochemistry, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and fluid dynamics.
- You have practical experience with the design, build, and testing of fuel cells, electrolyzers, or battery systems.
- You are proficient in electrochemical testing techniques such as cyclic voltammetry, potentiometry, and impedance spectroscopy.
- You have experience designing for 24/7 industrial use, keeping safety and reliability as your top priorities.
- You are a clear communicator in English who thrives in fast-paced environments.
What's in it for you?
We offer a comprehensive package designed to support our team members as we work toward our goal of global decarbonization.
- Meaningful equity compensation.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- A generous 401k matching program.
- Flexible time off to ensure you have a healthy work-life balance.
