At Glacier Fish Company, we take pride in being a leading producer of high-quality, frozen-at-sea cod and pollock. Our mission is built on a commitment to safety, consistent quality, and the long-term health of the North Pacific fishery. We operate two large trawl catcher-processor vessels that work in the Bering Sea and along the coasts of Washington and Oregon, and we are looking for a skilled professional to join our engineering team.
What you'll be doing
- You will manage and maintain all onboard electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, engine room, fish processing, bridge, and deck systems.
- You will diagnose and resolve electrical malfunctions by using specialized testing equipment and hand tools to ensure all systems remain operational.
- You will collaborate closely with the Chief Engineer to perform routine maintenance, train staff, and ensure all work complies with regulatory standards such as U.S.C.G., DNV, and OSHA.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in engineering and systems maintenance. We prefer candidates with at least two years of experience as a Marine Electrician. You must be comfortable working in a demanding, on-site environment that requires 12-hour shifts, seven days a week, in all weather conditions. You should be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and navigating steep stairs or vertical ladders. Proficiency in English is required to ensure you can follow safety instructions and communicate effectively with the crew. Additionally, you must be able to provide two positive professional references and demonstrate competency in troubleshooting, PLC systems, and energy isolation procedures.
What you'll get
We offer a comprehensive benefits package to support your health and long-term financial goals. You will have access to the following:
- 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
- Dental insurance.
- Vision insurance.
- Employee assistance program.
- Reimbursement for airfare between the vessel and your hometown upon successful completion of scheduled trips, per our company travel policy.
