At Pickle Robot, we are pioneering the use of Physical AI to transform supply chain operations. Our team develops advanced robotic systems that autonomously unload trucks, trailers, and shipping containers, replacing difficult and dangerous manual labor with efficient, automated solutions. By integrating generative AI, machine learning, computer vision, and industrial robotics, we create technology that works alongside people to improve safety and productivity on the loading dock. We are currently looking for a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our cross-functional research and development team in a hybrid capacity.
Key outcomes
- Design, review, and oversee electrical subsystems while ensuring full adherence to safety, EMC, and compliance standards.
- Develop robust power, control, and communications architectures tailored to our products and their operational environments.
- Author comprehensive electrical requirements and technical specifications.
- Refine designs to improve manufacturability, facilitate automated testing, and reduce overall costs.
- Work closely with software and mechanical engineering teams to build innovative, integrated system solutions.
- Manage the lifecycle of electrical documentation, including final drawings and connectivity specifications.
- Design and document complex cabling and system interface solutions.
- Lead and participate in formal technical design reviews to ensure project success.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent level of professional experience.
- At least 3 years of experience working within the robotics industry or a closely related field.
- Proven ability to handle robotic systems integration.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial AC and low-voltage DC environments.
- Practical, hands-on experience in laboratory settings, specifically regarding circuit failure analysis and testing.
- Technical proficiency with power electronics, motor control, and various sensors such as encoders, load cells, and Hall effect sensors.
- Familiarity with CAD software, specifically OnShape or similar platforms.
- The ability to work from our offices in Charlestown and Cambridge, Massachusetts, at least three days per week.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Demonstrated skill in PCB design, schematic layout, and assembly.
- Experience using Altium or an equivalent CAD program for electrical system design.
- Background in developing safety-compliant systems.
- Prior experience working within industrial automation environments.
