At REGENT, we are pioneering the future of coastal travel by building the seaglider, the world’s first electric flying machine designed to transport commercial passengers. By operating just a few meters above the water, our vehicles achieve significantly greater range than traditional electric aircraft. We are backed by world-class investors who have supported companies like SpaceX and Boom Supersonic, and we currently hold over $9 billion in orders. We are moving quickly to get our full-scale, human-carrying prototype on the water, and we want you to help us make that vision a reality.
What is this role?
We are looking for a mid-level Electrical Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. In this position, you will play a critical role in the development of our avionics and power systems. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced startup environment and wants to apply their expertise in hardware integration to revolutionary aerospace technology.
What will you do?
- Manage the full development cycle for electrical components, including design, diagramming, procurement, and testing through to final vehicle integration.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure our electrical and avionics systems interface seamlessly with mechanical, actuation, and propulsion components.
- Take a hands-on approach to fabrication, which includes building harnesses, populating enclosures with COTS components, and creating evaluation circuits for testing and debugging.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should have a solid foundation in electrical engineering principles and a passion for aerospace or maritime innovation. We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering and at least two years of professional experience in the aerospace, maritime, or automotive sectors.
- Strong technical proficiency with low-voltage power distribution, EMI/EMC mitigation, and serial networks like CAN, RS485/422, ARINC 429, and ethernet.
- Experience documenting, assembling, and debugging electronic subsystems using standard test equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on safety, quality, and the willingness to travel as required by our program stages.
What's in it for you?
We are committed to supporting your well-being and professional growth while you help us revolutionize transportation. Our benefits package includes:
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% of annual premiums covered.
- A 401(k) retirement plan and an employee equity incentive plan.
- Relocation assistance for those moving to join our team.
- Flexible working hours and a generous paid time off policy, including paid holidays and a company winter break.
- Daily catered lunches, a fully stocked office with snacks and coffee, and a dog-friendly workspace.
