As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Power System Controls to join our team at our headquarters in Henderson, Nevada. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will work weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. reporting directly to our Senior R&D Electrical Engineer.
Key outcomes
- Design and develop power system schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, including the selection and sizing of inverters, magnetics, and transformers for systems ranging from 10kVA to 1MVA+.
- Create and optimize custom power electronic circuits, such as AC-DC and DC-DC converters.
- Perform rigorous simulations and analyses using MATLAB/Simulink and SPICE to ensure design robustness.
- Validate performance through prototype testing, thermal management analysis, and electromagnetic compatibility assessments.
- Maintain full design documentation and ensure all products meet industry standards, including UL, IEC, IEEE, and NERC.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and project management teams to define specifications and support manufacturing and quality assurance processes.
- Manage project timelines and prioritize tasks to ensure successful, on-time delivery for our clients.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- At least 7 to 10 years of professional experience in the design and development of power electronics.
- Advanced technical proficiency in power semiconductor devices, including MOSFETs, IGBTs, and SiC/GaN transistors.
- Expertise in digital and analog control techniques for power electronics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, paired with clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Practical experience with high-power applications, such as electric vehicles or renewable energy systems.
- Knowledge of cooling techniques and thermal management for power electronics.
- Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
