At Beyond Meat, we started with a simple question. Why do you need an animal to create meat when you can build it directly from plants? We are on a mission to provide families with delicious, plant-based proteins that allow them to enjoy their favorite traditional dishes while supporting health, sustainability, and animal welfare. We are dedicated to driving innovation and excellence, and we are looking for passionate people to help us bring meaningful change to the plate and beyond.
The role
We are seeking a mid-level Electrical and Controls Technician to join our Engineering team in Devault, Pennsylvania. This is a full-time, on-site position where you will play a vital role in maintaining our high standards for plant-based protein production. You will work within a matrix organization, collaborating closely with both the Engineering and Maintenance departments to ensure our facilities operate at peak efficiency.
Core responsibilities
- Assist the engineering team with the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment, including wiring and I/O checkout, while implementing process improvements for existing systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with plant PLC equipment, electrical controls, and power wiring by interpreting electrical prints and making necessary adjustments to ladder logic or HMI programming.
- Provide flexible support for general maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance, work order completion, and training for maintenance personnel and equipment operators.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A formal certification in the electrical trade from an accredited school or college.
- At least 3 years of experience in wiring, troubleshooting, and developing control systems.
- Proficiency with software tools including Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME, RSlogix 500, RSLinx, AutoCAD, and the Microsoft Suite.
- Practical experience using electrical test equipment such as digital multimeters, insulation testers, and thermocouple calibrators.
- A solid understanding of the Ethernet/IP protocol.
- The ability to work in a demanding production environment, which includes standing for long periods, lifting at least 50 pounds, and working in varying temperatures ranging from cold storage to ambient warehouse spaces.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work flexible shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays as project needs arise.
Compensation and benefits
Beyond Meat is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive culture. We offer a dynamic work environment where you will be part of a team dedicated to global innovation in food technology.
