Key outcomes
- Develop and maintain secure, redundant systems for deploying software updates to remote IoT devices.
- Enhance hardware reliability to minimize the impact of potential equipment failures.
- Streamline our autoconfiguration processes to ensure field installations require almost no manual setup.
- Strengthen our monitoring and observability frameworks to identify and resolve hardware or software issues proactively.
- Create tools and procedures that empower our field teams to diagnose and address site issues independently.
- Diagnose and resolve complex device issues remotely.
Requirements
We are looking for a Senior Edge Operations Engineer to join our team in Chile. This is a full-time, hybrid position that may involve occasional travel to the United States and Norway. You should possess the following qualifications:
- A degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- A strong command of Linux and networking fundamentals, specifically TCP/IP.
- Professional experience in software development using C, C++, Golang, Python, or Rust.
- Demonstrated ability to build and deploy software to ARM64 and AMD64 hardware architectures.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
While not required, the following experience is highly valued:
- Working within cloud environments like AWS.
- Developing software for embedded devices or deploying to off-site hardware.
- Managing containerized workloads using Docker.
- Familiarity with network protocols and infrastructure, including DNS, DHCP, TLS, SSH, NAT, and proxies.
- Experience with wireless networking and professional camera systems.
- Building fleet management tools for monitoring, alerting, and data analysis.
- Managing certificate authority processes.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, growing startup environment.
