We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to join our team and help maintain the high standards of our engineering documentation. As a company deeply involved in the energy and engineering sectors, we rely on precise records to keep our projects running smoothly and safely. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to lead our document control efforts and ensure our technical information remains organized, accessible, and fully compliant with industry regulations.
What is this role?
This is a Senior level Document Control Manager position based in our Austin or Houston, Texas offices. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will report directly to the Director of Technical Services. You will play a vital part in our engineering department by overseeing how we manage, store, and audit our critical project records.
What will you do?
- You will take charge of our document control systems, which includes setting up folder structures, managing metadata, and controlling user access to ensure everything is secure and easy to find.
- You will coordinate the preparation of project job books by third-party firms and provide essential support during external audits to ensure we remain in full regulatory compliance.
- You will act as a key resource for our engineers and project managers, providing training on best practices and enforcing the standards that keep our technical documentation accurate and up to date.
What makes you a great fit?
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in managing engineering documents and drawings. We prefer candidates with at least 10 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 4 years specifically within the Oil and Gas, Energy, or general Engineering industries. Experience in the midstream pipeline sector is a plus. You should be comfortable working with document management systems like SharePoint or M-Files. Because you will be working with various teams, you need excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience is required for this position.
