We are building the future of data orchestration at Alluxio, formerly known as Tachyon. Our mission is to solve the most complex challenges in distributed systems, such as optimizing concurrency, managing large-scale cloud caching strategies, and ensuring high availability. About the Role
We are hiring a Distributed Systems Engineer for a full-time position. In this role, you will work directly on the core Alluxio system, collaborating with our experts to tackle difficult technical problems and improve the performance and reliability of our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the ongoing development and architecture of the Alluxio system.
- Design and implement robust solutions for complex distributed system challenges, including high availability and locking mechanisms.
- Optimize system performance within large-scale cloud environments to ensure efficient data caching and concurrency.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- You are a 2025 graduate with a degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a preference for Master’s or PhD candidates.
- You have strong proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Java, C++, or Go.
- You possess a solid understanding of distributed system principles, RPC, and message middleware.
- You are well-versed in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- You demonstrate a high level of responsibility, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong passion for teamwork.
We consider it a plus if you have experience with open-source communities, proficiency in English, or hands-on experience with technologies like HDFS, Spark, Presto, Impala, Ceph, or Kubernetes. Knowledge of multi-threading and asynchronous programming in Java is also highly valued.
Location
This position is based in China and requires on-site attendance.
