We're excited to welcome a new Distributed Systems Engineer to our remote team at Inngest. We build durable execution and workflow tooling that developers rely on every day, and our platform already powers millions of runs across production environments. Our work centers on solving hard technical problems in novel ways, and we value engineers who bring both deep systems knowledge and a genuine interest in the tools developers use.
What you'll be doing
- Architect and implement core components in our queueing layer, state store, and execution engine, including features such as concurrency controls and function debouncing.
- Drive improvements in throughput and latency as we scale to hundreds of thousands or millions of requests per second.
- Collaborate on systems architecture and infrastructure decisions while contributing to APIs, metrics stores, and customer-facing dashboards.
What you'll bring
You have several years of hands-on experience building and operating distributed systems. You have used Go or another statically typed language professionally for at least two years, and you have helped design or scale systems that handle significant load. You understand engineering trade-offs, know how to observe and maintain the systems you create, and value simplicity even when it requires more thoughtful design. Strong written and spoken English is essential, and your schedule should allow meaningful overlap with US Pacific time.
Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA is a plus, as is background in networking or site reliability engineering.
