Director Software Engineering, Reporting at Ridgeline

The role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Software Engineering to lead our Reporting organization. This is a full-time, executive-level position that operates on a hybrid basis. You will be responsible for guiding the engineering strategy for a critical area of our product, ensuring that we deliver enterprise-grade analytical solutions that meet the high standards of our investment management customers.

Core responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to a team of engineering managers and individual contributors, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and career growth.
• Drive the architectural vision for our reporting and analytical systems, ensuring our platforms remain secure, scalable, and highly performant.
• Partner closely with our Product Management and Strategy teams to translate complex business requirements into high-quality, reliable technical solutions.

Skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you should bring a deep technical background and a proven ability to lead through change. We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering or architecture, including significant time managing both managers and individual contributors.
• A strong track record of building and scaling SaaS solutions within cloud environments.
• Technical proficiency in Kotlin or Java, Python, Docker, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and modern architectural patterns for high-throughput, transactional data.
• Experience working within the financial services domain, particularly with portfolio accounting, performance reporting, or trading systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Compensation and benefits
