Job Description
- An expert in all facets of SRE with the ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders
- With a complete intolerance to manual work you will drive Toil reduction through automation and tooling
- Be a forcing factor within the organization as we transform to a world leading SRE organization
- Take the lead in driving Infrastructure solutions that drive service reliability and scalability.
- Take the lead in driving organizational excellence by building scalable process frameworks which drive rapid responses to availability issues
- Take the lead in driving holistic observability, High fidelity and low frequency alerting, zero touch operations and automation first strategies.
- Drive infrastructure, tooling and process improvements which meaningfully improve overall system reliability
- Co-located with product teams you will drive SRE principles such as holistic Observability, High fidelity and low frequency alerting, zero touch operations and automation first strategies.
- Working with product teams, ensure new services and iterations of existing services are built for reliability, scalability and ease of operations.
- Ensure all services and product elements are built to adopt standardized and cloud agnostic capabilities around deployment, patching, capacity management and operationalization to allow for effortless scalability and world beating reliability
- Build technical training capabilities to ensure the SRE organization is a destination for people in their career while providing a continuous learning culture.
- Support and troubleshoot multiple large-scale distributed software applications and networks
- Work closely with Product SRE teams to ensure adoption of SRE best practice, tooling and capability within those teams. Ensure seamless transfer of support responsibilities
- Champion best practices for reliability within Engineering Department
- Ensure compliance with best security practices and constantly assess potential vulnerabilities
- Establish, report, and improve various metrics associated with the efficiency of operating the product suite delivering value to our customers
- Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team and build a culture of accountability while setting the strategic direction
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field involving computer systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Highly experienced in the culture of SRE in comparable technology environments
- Highly experienced in leading a team of highly talented SRE’s.
- Site Reliability Engineering principles, including setting and managing Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and error budgeting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Decisiveness and ability to make sound judgments under pressure
- Demonstrable experience in driving automation first environments with the ability to build tooling and automations at scale.
- Extensive experience with managed service offerings.
- Software monitoring, APM and log aggregation tools.
- You are not afraid to question any existing processes and solutions, yet you display a keen sense of business value proposition and focus on the right priorities
- Be part of the team - be fully capable of reviewing the teams work, offer solutions / suggestions and be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
- US resident; this role is open to remote.
Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
