Director Site Reliability Engineering - Product Reliability at Zscaler

We are currently seeking an experienced leader to join our team as the Director of Site Reliability Engineering for Product Reliability. This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States.

Key outcomes

• Lead the charge in reducing manual toil through advanced automation and strategic tooling.
• Drive the development of infrastructure solutions that prioritize service reliability and scalability.
• Establish scalable process frameworks to ensure rapid response times during service availability issues.
• Implement holistic observability strategies, including high-fidelity, low-frequency alerting and zero-touch operational models.
• Collaborate closely with product teams to ensure new and existing services are built for effortless scalability and operational excellence.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning by building technical training programs that make our SRE organization a premier career destination.
• Mentor and guide engineering talent, promoting a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Report on key efficiency metrics to demonstrate the value delivered to our customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive leadership experience managing high-performing SRE teams in complex technology environments.
• Deep understanding of SRE principles, such as managing Service Level Objectives, Service Level Indicators, and error budgets.
• Proven track record of driving automation-first environments and building scalable tooling.
• Strong proficiency with software monitoring, APM, and log aggregation tools.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and make sound judgments under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and deliver measurable results in an agile setting.
• Residency in the United States.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is 220,000 USD to 260,000 USD. This range represents the target for new hires across all United States locations and may vary based on individual skills, experience, and education.
