What you bring

As our Director of Platform Backend Engineering, you will operate in a full-time, on-site capacity in India, where you will take ownership of our backend and API platform architecture. You will be at the helm of a high-impact team, ensuring our systems remain scalable, secure, and performant as we process massive datasets. Your core responsibilities include:

• Leading the end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of our backend platform while mentoring senior and principal engineers.
• Building and managing a high-performing, cross-functional engineering team to deliver robust distributed applications.
• Establishing technical vision and development best practices that foster innovation and improve overall developer productivity.

Requirements

We are looking for an executive-level leader who thrives on solving complex, real-world problems. You should hold a degree in computer science and bring over 12 years of software development experience, with at least five years specifically focused on platform development and distributed systems. We value candidates who have spent at least five years managing geographically dispersed teams and setting effective development processes. You should be proficient in languages such as Java, C++, Go, Rust, or Python. Beyond technical expertise, the ideal candidate is a pragmatic problem-solver who communicates clearly, embraces ambiguity, and is deeply committed to building an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
