What you bring

As our Director of Software Engineering, you will lead the technical evolution of our high-traffic eCommerce platform, which serves both web and mobile users. This Full Time, Hybrid role is based in Australia and requires someone who can balance strategic vision with a hands-on approach to technology. You will be instrumental in shaping our technical roadmap while fostering a culture of innovation across our engineering teams. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Developing and executing a comprehensive engineering roadmap that aligns with our product strategy and business goals.
• Leading and mentoring a hybrid team of 20 engineers, including frontend, backend, and QA specialists, across multiple regions.
• Ensuring the performance, scalability, and security of our platform while championing digital best practices.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a passionate leader with a strong engineering mindset and extensive experience in high-growth or startup environments. You should have a deep technical background in Full Stack development, including JavaScript, TypeScript, and Java, alongside a solid grasp of Cloud Architecture. We are looking for someone who has successfully managed teams of 10 or more engineers and is comfortable working in a remote or hybrid setting. You should be fluent in English and possess a genuine curiosity for emerging technologies, such as AI-assisted development tools. A collaborative spirit, empathy for your team, and a desire to solve complex problems through both leadership and occasional hands-on contribution are essential for success in this role.
