The role

We are seeking a Director of Security Engineering to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a high-impact leadership position for an experienced professional who is ready to take ownership of our security posture. You will be responsible for designing and improving our security solutions while maturing our monitoring and threat detection capabilities. We need a leader who can cut through the noise to focus on what truly matters, working closely with engineering leadership to build a robust security roadmap and a secure software development lifecycle.

Core responsibilities

• Define and execute the overarching strategy for security governance, implementing both preventive and reactive controls within our cloud environment.
• Operate in a DevSecOps capacity by partnering with engineering and infrastructure teams to integrate security at every layer of our technology stack.
• Design and manage security architecture and controls to ensure we remain compliant with all audit and regulatory requirements.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should bring extensive experience in application security and cloud infrastructure. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• Deep expertise in securing AWS cloud environments and managing containerized Kubernetes workloads.
• Proficiency in writing and reviewing Infrastructure as Code, specifically using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Strong background in securing both front-end and back-end services, with a solid understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and remediation strategies.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a security team while collaborating effectively across product and engineering departments.
• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
