We are looking for a Director of Security and IT to unify our information security and IT functions. In this role, you will lead a cohesive strategy that supports our internal teams and customers as we scale and move upmarket. You will manage our IT and security leaders, foster a data-driven culture, and collaborate with our GRC program manager to oversee our compliance and privacy initiatives. This is a remote-first position open to candidates in the United States and Canada, and we are happy to consider applicants at either the Senior Manager or Director level.

Key outcomes

• Define and unify a long-term strategy for IT, security, and compliance that matures alongside our business.
• Cultivate a data-driven and outcome-oriented environment within the IT and security teams.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and growth opportunities for the managers and individual contributors within your departments.
• Balance security investments with operational goals like employee productivity and user experience, while effectively managing our risk appetite.
• Partner with the GRC manager to ensure our privacy and compliance programs remain robust and effective.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in people management, including at least one year of experience managing other managers.
• Proven leadership background in both information security and IT, internal tooling, or platform teams.
• Experience working within the B2B SaaS sector and familiarity with the unique scaling challenges of startups.
• Fluency in compliance and privacy frameworks, such as SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
• A people-first leadership style that prioritizes mentorship and team development over hands-on technical execution.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and execute long-term strategies while leveraging automation to drive efficiency.
• A commitment to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team.
• Fluency in English.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $260,000 USD, benchmarked to the San Francisco market regardless of your physical location. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
