About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Safety for a full-time, on-site position. This is a primary leadership role where you will serve as the face of safety for our organization. You will be responsible for engaging and influencing teams at all levels to implement a comprehensive strategy that drives compliance and fosters a culture dedicated to preventing all injuries. You will lead a team of two site safety managers and work closely with operations, engineering, quality, human resources, and legal departments to ensure our safety standards are met across our manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute a companywide safety strategy while reporting progress against key milestones and performance indicators.
- Ensure full compliance with local OSHA and Coca-Cola KORE standards by coordinating internal audits and managing corrective actions.
- Mentor and coach site safety professionals while collaborating with the engineering team to embed technical safety standards into our equipment and processes.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 15 years of diverse safety experience, ideally within the food manufacturing or dairy processing industries.
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental, health, and safety or a related field.
- Technical expertise in regulatory requirements, risk management, and the implementation of safety programs such as LOTO, ergonomics, and behavioral-based safety.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent public speaking and written communication skills.
- Experience using EHS management software across multiple locations.
- Preferred: Professional certifications such as CSP or CIH.
Location
This position is based on-site at one of our fairlife locations, including Chicago, IL; Goodyear, AZ; Coopersville, MI; or Rochester, NY. Please note that this role requires 50% to 70% travel to our production facilities, as a strong presence at our manufacturing plants is essential.
