At SpiderOak, we have been pioneers in encrypted software since before the first iPhone hit the market. Our mission is to change the world by building inherently secure technology that protects data in even the most hostile environments. Unlike mainstream security companies that layer protection onto insecure systems, we focus on need-to-know technology that combines end-to-end encryption with distributed ledger capabilities to ensure there are no backdoors. We are a fully remote team that values trust, flexibility, and innovation.
What is this role?
We are looking for a Director of Product Management to join us on a full-time basis. This is a senior leadership position where you will oversee the strategy and execution of our embedded software development toolkit. You will play a vital role in guiding our Aranya platform, which provides essential security controls for identity and confidentiality across IoT and embedded devices. This role is perfect for a leader who has a deep technical background in embedded security and a passion for driving product adoption in complex markets like defense and industrial IoT.
What will you do?
- Define and own the product strategy for our embedded security toolkit, ensuring it stays ahead of industry trends, compliance standards, and customer security needs.
- Manage the entire product lifecycle, from initial roadmap development to final execution, while collaborating with engineering and security teams to deliver developer-friendly solutions.
- Act as a key bridge between our technical teams and the market by monitoring evolving cybersecurity regulations and translating complex security requirements into actionable product features.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong foundation in computer science, electrical engineering, or cybersecurity. We require a candidate who possesses the following:
- Hands-on software engineering experience is a must, as you will need to understand the technical nuances of our embedded security products.
- Deep expertise in cryptography, secure coding, authentication, and the unique challenges of edge networking in environments with intermittent connectivity.
- Familiarity with the developer ecosystem, including CI/CD pipelines, hardware security modules, and trusted execution environments.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate complex security topics to a variety of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies and secure DevOps practices.
- Fluency in English is required for this role.
What's in it for you?
We are a 100% remote company that fosters an inclusive and supportive culture. We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your long-term success and well-being, including:
- Equity compensation.
- Paid time off.
- 401k retirement plan.
- Life insurance.
- The flexibility of a fully remote work environment.
