Director of Product and Engineering - Fintech Platform at Mews

We are looking for an experienced Director of Product and Engineering to lead the development of our financial systems platform. As a $1.2b unicorn in the hospitality technology space, we are transforming how the industry operates through our connected cloud platform, and we need a strategic leader to help us scale our fintech capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate a clear product and technical vision for our financial services platform, ensuring alignment with company goals and European financial regulations.
• Take end-to-end ownership of the delivery of a compliant fintech platform, including accountability for KPIs and execution.
• Lead and develop a cross-functional organization, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
• Maintain high standards for architecture, scalability, security, CI/CD, testing, and observability across the tribe.
• Partner with engineering and product leaders to drive technical innovation and manage technical debt effectively.
• Oversee capacity planning and prioritization to ensure predictable, sustainable delivery.
• Establish feedback loops with internal and external stakeholders to iterate quickly and improve our fintech product portfolio.
• Collaborate across the business with teams like GTM, Finance, Legal, and Compliance to manage dependencies and deliver integrated outcomes.

Must-haves

• At least 7 years of leadership experience in product or engineering roles, specifically with large-scale, regulated fintech platforms.
• A proven track record of managing both product strategy and technical execution to drive business results.
• Strong technical literacy, with the ability to collaborate on system design, security, and operational resilience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and grow cross-functional teams of product and engineering managers.
• Expertise in maintaining high engineering standards, including automated testing, CI/CD, and incident management.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse audiences around a clear narrative.
• Experience in payments, embedded finance, or similar fintech domains.
