Director of Platform Engineering at Lumos

We are Lumos, the company building an enterprise-grade AppStore that lets organizations search, request, and gain access to any application they need without long IT delays. Our unified platform untangles the complex relationships between apps, identities, and data, and we are backed by Andreessen Horowitz along with investors such as Scale, Neo, Greg Brockman, and Phil Venables. Since emerging from stealth just over two years ago, our team has expanded from 20 to roughly 100 people while our customer base has grown tenfold to include GitHub, MongoDB, and Major League Baseball.

Responsibilities

• Own and guide the engineering teams responsible for Core Services, Data Platform, Integrations Platform, and Developer Ecosystem, setting a clear vision for reliable, world-class systems that support both internal product teams and external customers.
• Lead, mentor, and scale a growing group of platform engineers, making hiring decisions and shaping team structure as the company enters its next phase of expansion.
• Raise the overall engineering bar by introducing scalable best practices, refining management principles, and accelerating the velocity of every engineering team across the organization.

Requirements

• Extensive leadership experience directing platform, infrastructure, or data-focused engineering teams at a high-growth technology company.
• Proven ability to build and evolve high-performing teams while partnering closely with technical founders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong command of modern engineering practices for core services, data platforms, integrations, and developer tooling, paired with a track record of delivering reliable systems at scale.

What we offer

The salary range for this position is $245,000 - $300,000.
