What is this role?
We are looking for an experienced Director of IT and Security to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a high-level leadership position where you will be responsible for shaping our organization’s security strategy and managing our IT operations. You will report directly to our SVP of Engineering and work closely with our executive leadership team. While we are a remote-first company, we are currently prioritizing candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area who can join our team for periodic in-person collaboration at our office.
What will you do?
- Develop and execute a comprehensive security strategy, including managing vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and incident response protocols.
- Lead the design and maintenance of our network architecture and secure IT operations, ensuring our infrastructure remains reliable and protected.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team while managing the IT and security budget to ensure we have the resources needed to scale effectively.
What makes you a great fit?
You should have at least 10 years of progressive experience in IT leadership, with a minimum of 5 years specifically focused on security and network administration. We are looking for a strategic thinker who is comfortable communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You should possess deep expertise in information security frameworks, cloud security, and risk management. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, and holding certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA will make you a standout candidate. Proficiency in English is required.
