At quip, we create thoughtfully designed personal oral care products that make healthy habits simple and enjoyable. Since launching our first Sonic Brush in 2015, we have expanded our portfolio to include a range of ADA-accepted electric toothbrushes, smart brushes, refillable floss, mouthwash, and gum, all supported by a subscription delivery service. Our latest product, the quip 360, was recently named the WSJ Best Electric Brush, and our professional platform now connects personal care with professional dental services through a single digital companion app. We are seeking a Director of Industrial Design to lead design strategy and execution across our hardware and consumables product roadmaps.

- Balance strategic vision with practical considerations to meet schedule, margin, quality, and manufacturability targets.
- Translate customer feedback, consumer research, and industry trends into clearly defined product concepts and features.
- Represent the product function internally during stakeholder reviews and externally at brand launches, influencer events, and media engagements.
- Lead concept development, brainstorming sessions, and workshops that shape future product innovations.

- Proven ability in concept development using 3D modeling, sketching, sculpting, or other rapid prototyping methods.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, Rhino, Keyshot, and Adobe Creative Suite, along with the ability to guide others in their effective use.
- Experience designing and facilitating user experience sessions, design research sessions, and innovative ideation workshops.
- Hands-on familiarity with prototyping methods that combine handwork, FDM printing, and SLA 3D printing (Form 3).
- Understanding of product commercialization processes, including milestone or phase-gate methodologies.
- Experience partnering with global contract manufacturers to realize design intent and meet product requirements.
- Natural curiosity and initiative to explore new ideas through persuasive prototypes and other media.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working within hybrid environments that combine in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.
