We are looking for a sharp, entrepreneurial leader to join our Corporate Venture Capital team and help us identify the next generation of construction technology that will shape the future of our field.
Role at a glance
This is a full-time Director-level position based in the United States. You will operate in a hybrid capacity, requiring multiple days per week at our headquarters in San Francisco, located conveniently near the Embarcadero BART station. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional who thrives at the intersection of strategic investment and hands-on construction technology innovation.
Your impact
- You will source, evaluate, and execute strategic investment opportunities in startups that align with Hilti’s long-term vision for the construction industry.
- You will serve as the primary bridge between the startup ecosystem and the broader Hilti organization, ensuring that portfolio companies and our internal teams collaborate effectively.
- You will build and maintain our global brand presence by networking with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and investors while sharing key technical insights with our leadership and customers.
What you'll need
- At least 6 years of experience in strategic, operational, or managerial roles, ideally within the Hilti Group or the construction tech innovation space.
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills, paired with a proven ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to present findings to senior management and investment committees.
- A self-directed mindset and the ability to navigate large organizational structures while maintaining an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time, with occasional periods requiring up to 75% travel for domestic and international engagements.
- Bonus points for an existing network in the construction tech ecosystem, experience with venture capital transactions, or an advanced degree like an MBA.
Perks and compensation
The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $220,000. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a corporate bonus of up to 20 percent. We also offer the flexibility of a hybrid work environment to support your professional and personal balance.
