About the Role
We are searching for a talented Director of Engineering to join us on a full-time basis. In this executive-level position, you will bootstrap and oversee our new Syndication team. You will be responsible for driving the strategy and execution of this key initiative, developing a deep understanding of our end-to-end product experiences. This role requires you to navigate how our complex technical services interact with adjacent functions across the business, ensuring we strike the right balance between rapid feature delivery and building a robust, long-term platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of our most complex and ambiguous engineering challenges, ensuring that systems across our organization are cohesive and scalable.
- Influence multiple teams and organizations by setting a high technical bar, simplifying processes, and acting as a trusted authority for difficult trade-off decisions.
- Manage Senior and Principal engineers while actively scouting and recruiting top talent to build out the skills needed for our future success.
Requirements
We are looking for a leader with extensive experience in software development and technical strategy. Your background should include:
- At least 20 years of professional software development experience.
- A minimum of 15 years of programming experience using modern languages such as Java or C++.
- Over 15 years of experience in system architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- An advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience shipping large-scale consumer products and partnering with Machine Learning experts to drive technical optimizations.
- Hands-on experience as a Technical Lead Manager overseeing multiple engineering functions.
