About the Role
We are searching for a people-centric and technical Director of Engineering to join us in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will provide essential leadership and partnership to our TeamSnap for Business teams. You will work cross-functionally with our product, design, marketing, and analytics departments to launch high-quality products that meet our business objectives and serve our users. We need a leader who is data-driven, customer-obsessed, and ready to take accountability for our technical roadmap and team growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing 1:1 coaching, career development, performance management, and goal setting to help every individual thrive.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define project deliverables, facilitate agile ceremonies, and ensure our development roadmap aligns with organizational strategy.
- Empower your team to maintain high standards of engineering excellence by identifying technical debt, promoting best practices in testing, and fostering a culture of shared ownership.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should bring a blend of technical expertise and strong leadership experience. We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- At least 5 years of experience managing software engineers across various skill levels, with a focus on building an inclusive culture.
- At least 5 years of experience in a management-of-managers role.
- A data-driven mindset with proficiency in analytics tools and a proven ability to use insights to guide decision-making.
- Strong proficiency in a widely-used programming language, with bonus points for experience in TypeScript or Elixir.
- Experience working with cross-functional and end-user-facing teams to drive urgency and prioritize effectively.
Location
This position is fully remote. We are looking for permanent US residents who are comfortable working across different time zones. Please note that we are currently unable to hire in Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, or South Dakota.
Compensation and Benefits
We are committed to equitable and competitive compensation. The starting point for this role is $225,250, which includes both base salary and bonus. In addition to your salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and professional growth:
