The role
We are hiring a Director of Engineering to lead our established Growth Engineering organization on a full-time, remote basis. This director-level position requires someone with extensive leadership experience who can guide multiple engineering teams and shape the technical direction of growth initiatives across our product portfolio.
Core responsibilities
- Refine and execute the technical vision and roadmap for the Growth organization, aligning engineering efforts with company objectives and growth targets.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 30 engineers and engineering managers while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Marketing, and Data Science leadership to define priorities, align strategies, and deliver high-impact initiatives that drive sustainable growth.
Skills and experience
We are looking for candidates with 12 or more years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in engineering leadership roles with direct management of engineering managers. You should have a proven track record of leading and evolving established high-performing engineering organizations, preferably in subscription-based or consumer-facing digital products. Hands-on experience with backend engineering technologies and architectures is essential, along with deep expertise in growth engineering practices such as experimentation frameworks, funnel optimization, and data-driven decision making. Strong familiarity with modern software delivery practices-including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automated testing-is required, as is experience leading technical transformations that improve deployment frequency and stability. You should also demonstrate strategic thinking, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership. Experience in subscription business models, including acquisition, conversion, pricing strategies, and retention optimization, is highly valued. We require fluency in English.
Compensation and benefits
In the United States outside of California, the reasonably expected salary range for this role is $162,000 to $291,000. In California, the range is $196,500 to $306,500. In Canada, the range is $205,500 CAD to $272,500 CAD. This position is also eligible for competitive equity ownership.
