At Inbank, we are transforming the financial landscape by embedding financing solutions directly into the shopping journeys of over 6,000 retailers. Our mission is to provide a frictionless experience for end customers while helping our merchant partners scale their businesses. We are a growing team of more than 440 professionals across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and the Czech Republic, and we are currently looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to join our Product and Technology unit in Estonia.
Key outcomes
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of over 80 engineers while directly managing five Engineering Managers.
- Partner with the CPTO to define our technical vision and architecture, ensuring our platform remains scalable, secure, and user-friendly.
- Champion a product-led mindset, coaching teams to identify technology-driven opportunities that create tangible business value.
- Oversee the end-to-end planning and delivery of engineering projects to ensure they meet our high standards for quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in product and design to refine engineering processes and best practices.
- Define and execute a technical roadmap that aligns with our broader business objectives and growth ambitions.
- Actively participate in the recruitment and development of our product engineering talent.
Requirements
- A robust technical background with deep expertise in software development, system architecture, and modern engineering practices.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a product-focused organization.
- The ability to manage complex, multi-team technical projects and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders.
- A data-driven approach, with the ability to translate metrics into actionable strategic insights.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a commitment to a meritocratic and collaborative environment.
- Professional fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience working within a start-up or scale-up environment.
- Experience building financial services or fintech products.
- Familiarity with our current technology stack, including Java Springboot, PostgreSQL, Vue/Nuxt, and Node.js.
- Technical experience navigating the transition from monolithic architectures to microservices, multi-tenancy, and CDC data pipelines.
