Director of Engineering at Grow Therapy

At Grow Therapy we operate a technology-powered marketplace that connects therapists with patients and supports insurance payors, all with the goal of expanding access to high-quality mental health care. Since our launch in February 2021 we have raised more than $178 million from investors including Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, and SignalFire, and we now serve more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients nationwide. We are seeking a Director of Engineering who will guide engineering teams in building reliable, user-centered software that advances this mission.

Key outcomes

• Partner with product, design, and data leaders to deliver the product roadmap for marketplace, provider onboarding, and scheduling features that help clients connect with the right therapist.
• Balance new feature work with ongoing technical debt reduction and infrastructure improvements through clear prioritization with stakeholders.
• Coach engineering managers and individual contributors to raise team efficiency, adopt best practices, and reduce technical debt.
• Provide mentorship and actionable feedback that supports the career growth of your management team.
• Lead cross-functional engineering initiatives that address organization-wide challenges and improve delivery across teams.

Requirements

• Six or more years of experience as a people manager who has built and led high-performing engineering teams.
• Three or more years of experience serving as a Director of Engineering.
• Strong technical background with prior experience as a software engineer.
• Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships that enable teams to deliver meaningful user experiences.
• Experience working in fast-paced startup environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience scaling engineering organizations in high-growth technology companies.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $250,000–$295,000.
