Role at a glance

We are looking for a Director of Engineering to lead our B2C efforts in a full-time, hybrid capacity. This is a senior leadership position where you will oversee the technical strategy and engineering talent for our consumer-facing web and native e-commerce platforms. While we have a vibrant headquarters in Chicago, this role is open to candidates working from anywhere, provided they can participate in our hybrid model.

Your impact

• Coach and mentor engineering managers and individual contributors to foster a high-performing culture of ownership and collaboration.
• Drive technical strategy for our B2C domain, ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of our marketplace systems.
• Partner with stakeholders in product and UX to develop an innovative roadmap that drives engagement and business value.

What you'll need

• A proven history of leading multiple high-performing engineering teams, ideally within the e-commerce sector.
• Deep expertise in managing blended teams of full-stack and mobile developers.
• Strong experience with enterprise asynchronous system architecture and scaling.
• A collaborative mindset with a track record of partnering with product and UX teams to build best-in-class customer experiences.
• Fluency in English and a passion for working in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
• The ability to inspire teams, manage resources effectively, and represent our brand to the broader technology community.
