We are building the next-generation platform that gives creators powerful AI-driven tools for recording, transcribing, editing, and mixing audio and video. As we scale to meet the needs of a rapidly growing customer base, we are looking for a Director of Engineering to lead and expand our engineering organization.
Responsibilities
- Partner with technical leads and product managers to create and maintain a clear, reliable roadmap that supports predictable project delivery.
- Align technical decisions with long-term business goals and anticipate challenges before they arise.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers and engineering managers while fostering continuous professional growth.
- Define and refine the operating model for the broader engineering organization, including recruiting, onboarding, planning, and prioritization practices.
- Strengthen company culture by promoting collaboration, inclusivity, and high standards as the team expands.
Must-haves
- 6+ years of engineering management experience, including leading managers, with a demonstrated record of shipping high-quality products.
- Hands-on experience building web applications, ideally using React and TypeScript, or native desktop applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that allow effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build collaborative, high-performing teams where engineers can do their best work.
- Comfort providing and receiving direct, empathetic feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and drive results amid rapid change.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience managing engineering teams at a startup with a high rate of change.
- Experience building or contributing to creative tools.
Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $260,000–$330,000 per year.
