What is this role?
We are looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to join us in a full-time, on-site capacity. This is an executive-level position where you will lead our Account, Integration, and Developer Portal teams. You will play a critical role in shaping the technical strategy for how our users authenticate and manage their data, as well as how our partners integrate with our services. This position requires you to work from our offices in McLean, Virginia, or the San Francisco Bay Area, as we believe that being together in person fosters the mentorship and collaboration necessary for our continued success.
What will you do?
- Direct the technical strategy and execution for account authentication, recovery, and customer implementation, while overseeing the growth of our Developer Portal.
- Drive innovation by spearheading the development of omni-channel authentication solutions and personalized experiences for our members.
- Collaborate across departments with Product, Design, Data Science, and Fraud Prevention teams to build secure, scalable, and cohesive product functionality.

You are a seasoned leader with a strong background in engineering management, particularly within the realms of identity management, authentication, and security protocols. You have a proven track record of scaling digital products and leading high-performing teams in an agile environment. You possess a deep understanding of cloud technologies and DevOps practices, and you are comfortable aligning complex engineering strategies with broader business objectives. Your communication skills allow you to effectively engage with stakeholders and customers, and you hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
