We are OpenTeams, the open-source software marketplace that connects users with vetted service providers and compatible products. Our remote-first team values motivated, humble, and curious colleagues who collaborate to deliver practical solutions at scale. We are hiring a full-time Director of Engineering to guide the technical direction of our platform and help shape new offerings alongside the executive team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering team through hiring, contracting, and day-to-day guidance while fostering professional growth.
- Oversee the development, execution, and ongoing maintenance of all engineering projects that power the OpenTeams platform.
- Design and implement processes, workflows, standards, and best practices for software development and site reliability engineering.
Requirements
- Five or more years of hands-on software development experience.
- Deep understanding of HTTP and RESTful architecture and design principles, along with prior management experience building and maintaining applications.
- Strong background with client-side technologies for web and mobile applications and a solid grasp of AI/ML and emerging technologies.
- Experience with Python, Django REST Framework, FastAPI, Next.js, TypeScript, React, Vercel, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, or GCP is a plus.
What we offer
Base salary ranges from $130,000 to $150,000.
