Picture a team that believes data should feel as natural as a conversation. At Sigma, we built a cloud analytics platform that lets business people explore billions of rows without writing a line of code, and we just raised another $200 million to push that vision even further. Now we are looking for a leader who can guide the engineers turning that vision into reality every day.
The opportunity
As our Director of Engineering, you will guide multiple product engineering teams that create the heart of Sigma’s data exploration and analysis experience. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will shape both the technical direction and the culture of the groups building the features our customers rely on to make faster, smarter decisions. Your blend of product intuition and people leadership will directly influence how Sigma continues to redefine business intelligence.
A day in the life
- Partner closely with product managers and architects to decide what to build next, balancing customer needs, technical possibilities, and long-term platform health.
- Coach and grow engineering managers and individual contributors, hiring new talent when the roadmap demands it and creating an environment where urgency and excellence coexist.
- Share clear plans and progress updates with colleagues across the company so every team understands how engineering work supports broader company goals.
Who you are
You bring at least seven years of engineering management experience leading product teams and three additional years of organizational leadership. You have a strong grasp of technical architecture, can move fluidly between different technology approaches, and quickly pick up new tools when the situation calls for it. You value data-driven decisions, enjoy collaborating with world-class engineers and product thinkers, and take genuine pride in shipping work that stands out. English fluency is essential for this on-site role in the United States.
Why you'll love it here
