The opportunity
We are looking for a technical and people-focused Director of Platform Engineering to lead our efforts in Data Engineering, Infrastructure, SRE, Security, and DevOps. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our platform’s evolution, ensuring that our systems are robust, scalable, and ready to support the future of our product. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define our technical roadmap, all while fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. This is a remote position, and we are looking for someone who is customer-obsessed and ready to make a significant impact on our engineering organization.
A day in the life
- You will provide daily leadership and mentorship to engineers, focusing on career development, performance management, and goal setting to help every team member do their best work.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define project deliverables, manage the development roadmap, and ensure our technical initiatives align with our broader organizational strategy.
- You will champion continuous improvement by overseeing our development processes, architecture, and performance standards, while empowering your team to tackle technical debt and drive quality through operational excellence.
Who you are
You are a seasoned leader with a passion for building inclusive engineering cultures and a track record of success in technical management. We are looking for someone who brings the following experience and skills:
- At least 5 years of experience managing software engineers at various levels, including a strong background in managing other managers.
- A data-driven mindset with proficiency in analytics tools and the ability to use insights to guide strategic decisions.
- Strong technical proficiency in a widely-used programming language and a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, such as GCP, AWS, or Kubernetes.
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed environment.
